|
The CEA Tools are data-rich and based on established analytical methods and formulae for community economic analysis. "Help" and "more info" buttons provide a brief explanation of terms and actions throughout this section. However, it is important to recognize that to be able to understand and apply the results of the analysis requires a moderate level of familiarity with local or regional economic analysis concepts and methods. This would typically be obtained by completing a professional workshop or seminar on community economic analysis, or as a course component of a relevant academic program. Visitors to REDDI who lack this background knowledge are advised that they may find the analysis results difficult to interpret. CAUTION on Using Analysis Results to Set Local StrategiesIt is important to keep in mind that each type of analysis will only provide you with one perspective on your community's economy. Every analysis should be grounded in what you know about your community from other sources, including your business directory, municipal records, results of community surveys and discussions with other community members about the local economy. The data used in the analysis will be updated as frequently as possible, but may not reflect the current situation in your community/region.
